Lis McCormick, Director


Lis has over 30 years' experience of working with teams. She managed her first team (badly!) at the age of 23 and since then has led many permanent and  project teams, some of which have been geographically dispersed. For a number of years she worked in an academic environment, teaching leadership and team-working theory to MBA and MSc students. Able to effortlessly combine theory and practice, Lis's straight-talking and pragmatic style ensures that the focus of all her work with teams remains on delivering value to the business.

Much of Lis's spare time also seems to revolve around teams as she has served on the board of various charities in recent years.

Lis has a Masters degree in Human Resource Management as well as a post-graduate qualification in Direct & Database Marketing. She is an accredited workplace mediator and is presently en route to gaining accreditation for her executive coaching practice.

Professor Jack Worden, Director


Jack is a management consultant with extensive experience of senior management, international business and consultancy.

Earlier in his career, he worked as HR manager in private and public sector organisations before moving into higher education where he served for a number of years as Dean of Napier University Business School. As a member of the senior management team he also held responsibility for the university's international development strategy. During his tenure the Business School underwent a period of significant growth and was ranked No.1 among the modern university Business Schools. The university's international business grew 5-fold under his leadership.

Jack is an honorary professor of Shandong University of Finance & Economics in China and his official appointments have included advisor to the China EU Association, Advisor to the International Business School, Kolkata and non-executive director for Compita Ltd.

He has significant experience of joint venture and cross-cultural working and retains a keen interest in international strategy and people development. Jack has undertaken consultancy projects for a number of organisations including GEC/Ferranti, Scottish Power and DTZ.

Jack is a 'big picture thinker' who asks sharp and insightful questions designed to help teams clarify their thinking and planning processes.

Peter Thompson, Consultant


Peter has more than twenty years experience to board level across several areas of business. His final role before moving into leadership consulting was Director of HR for Hilti GB Ltd, a privately owned multinational. As a consultant, he has worked in the agrochemicals, financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, manufacturing, professional services and third sectors.

Peter combines his broad commercial experience with a highly pragmatic approach well-suited to helping clients translate their strategy into workable plans and behaviours. Highly personable and a skilful facilitator, his interest is in supporting both teams and individuals to increase their effectiveness and deliver stronger business results.

Peter is accredited to use several team and leadership assessment tools and to deliver Situational Leadership programmes for The Ken Blanchard Companies. He is a member of the Association of Coaching, a mentor for Business in the Arts and a trustee of Hope in Action, a charity working with young people in South Africa.

Carolyn Graham, Head of Conflict Management Services


Carolyn has 25+ years’ experience in the Arts & Entertainment industry, including several years as Director at London’s Southbank Centre.

Since 2006, she has worked solely as a mediator, facilitator and trainer in conflict management and dispute resolution. She is a CEDR-accredited (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) mediator and a member of the Civil Mediation Council. She has mediated for organisations of all sizes, and her experience is spread across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Carolyn is a calm and clear thinker who quickly gets to the heart of what’s important. She is a calming influence with the ability to keep proceedings on track and to deliver positive outcomes. Clients value her friendly, straightforward style and gift for building rapport. She is skilled in helping parties in conflict to find common goals and move forward, providing both support and challenge on the way.

Ann Barrowman, Office Manager


Ann looks after all aspects of our 'back office' operations. A consummate professional, most of her career to date has been spent in occupational health and employee wellbeing. She embodies customer service and has a long history of successfully managing large professional teams; she's walked our talk!

All our clients and enquirers are likely to talk to Ann at some point, so we wanted to include her picture; it's always nice to know who you're talking to!

Martin Howden, Executive Coaching Partner


Martin is an executive coach and writer who works with people from commercial, public and charitable sectors to help them increase their impact. He coaches in the UK, Europe, USA and Africa and leads a network of experienced executive coaches. Martin takes considerable care to match the right coach to each client.

Prior to setting up his coaching business in 2004 Martin had 26 years business experience in ICI, Astra Zeneca and Avecia - all of it in management positions. As well as 12 years in International Business Managing Director roles Martin held senior positions in Strategic Planning, Marketing, Operations and R&D.

Martin has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Doctorate in Chemistry.
